If you were not present on the planet Earth in the last month I would like to say that NBC (the one that showed that U.S. network series that has just lost without rhyme or know) that with a new series on the air, called The Event, or Event if you prefer the translation of titles of series (I'm against since been translated into Boston Legal Justiça sem Limites on FOX).
And as I am in search of something to replace the void that Lost and 24 hours left in my grade of good programs to be watched, I decided to give a chance for The Event, once I had had enough of curiosity about 400 times I saw the teasers on AXN and that's what I will not speak.
Good short story than I know those 5 first chapters, the computer programmer Sean Walker (less geeky nerd you can imagine, I never saw anyone in IT knows that handling a gun that was not virtual, with the exception of serial killers ) and his girlfriend Leila Buchanan (a nice generic and whatever) sailing on a Caribbean cruise (serials that start on islands often leave bad).
During the trip, Leila mysteriously disappears (no, not the black smoke or Ethan), leading Sean to investigate the case on its own, well now I'll open a big parenthesis because I think they like me you must think that History is packed and yes it is, but will improve, or not. Meanwhile, the new U.S. president, Elias Martinez (innovation is that President Obama is black type, but the surprise is that he be banned from the little land that lives in constant revolution fueled by cigars for export) is informed about the existence of a prison at Mount Inostranka, Alaska. There live the survivors of a plane crash at the end of World War II. Held at Mount Inestranka the U.S.
government, these prisoners have superhuman features (no, not another generic Heroes Record not). Aided by the leader of superhuman, Sophia Maguire, President Martinez decides to free them. But his plans are interrupted when he suffered an assassination attempt. In the search for information on the whereabouts of Leila, Sean finds out what appears to be a conspiracy against President Martinez and his father, Michael Buchanan, seems to be part of that conspiracy.
Well of course this story at first seems to be very general and it is! But what hooked me to this series is the way it is counted as a fan of Lost and 24 hours can not help but notice certain similarities, but before they get comparisons like to say that: first, it was 24 hours Jack Bauer would have questioned the leader of the "nonhuman" for 15 minutes and the series would have ended in the second chapter. Second, if it were lost, the plane that disappeared at the beginning of the chapter have appeared in one island and not in the Arizona desert.
So now that eliminated my comparisons and I reviewed my resume from Wikipedia, I will say that I found the series so far.
The Event awakened in me the same thing FlashForward had done (but it was canceled) and its history (which we consider a mixture of Fringe, 440 and X Files) was able to arrest me for a few hours, like 4 hours straight and so, by his elaborate story, its suspense is moderated The Event that I added to my list of series that I have to watch.
The pilot episode looks like a movie, for its action scenes and beautiful locations (ahhhh the Caribbean, # not) and at its end the number of hooks that let it awaken a curiosity and a desire to know what's coming next, that few series, a similar proposal can achieve. In all, despite the personality through the afternoon session of some characters, the main plot in this story of "superhuman", and the organizations they work for the government and not work for the government at the same time (not that confusing?) .
Well, these are my opinions of shit about this series that has everything to "blow up the balloon's mouth" as a friend of mine would say. I recommend that anyone who likes sitcoms and miss Lost and 24 hours at least watch the pilot of the series, because it's worth.
